Absurd requirements, AI tools filtering people left and right, ATS making you reenter the CV.
The networking. Now call this person, message someone else…
It’s a pain in the ass.
I hear you.
I’m Spanish. The same happens in Europe.
At least in Spain, where I’m job hunting the most.
My name is Jacobo Ulibarrena.
I’m from Spain, the EU youth unemployment “paradise”.
I’m a “mechanical engineer”, specialized in CAD and CAE.
I put it in quotation marks as I have barely worked as such since I graduated years ago.
I’m 29.
I should had finished university studies at 22 years of age.
I finished being 26.
Happens when you have more interests than just engineering.
And absurd difficulty levels in subjects. 3 out of 80 people passing Physics I with the bare minimum grade. You name it.
I have 2 years of work experience in very diverse industries.
Unfortunately, some of you know about this.
I’ll look mostly for engineering jobs.
Some PhDs and masters as well. It’s time to do something with my life.
Even if it’s tiny.
Even if you don’t subscribe to the newsletter.
If you stop doom scrolling for five minutes, that’s good for your mind.
Market is shit.
Enough rejections.
Do something else.
Hit the gym, exercise, go for a walk. Hell, abandon this page.
I’ll share my progress with job hunting through my newsletter.
Tips, thoughts, things that happened in interviews… Also successful resumes (CVs).
I’ll also talk about other stuff in which I’m interested at.
Engineering stuff, digital marketing and entrepreneurship.
I’ll send you a daily email.
You can reply to them.
Contact me anytime.
Insult me, share your thoughts…
Whatever you want.
Oh, and there is no lead magnet.
The emails themselves will be valuable enough so that you don’t need a lead magnet.
This is not your usual newsletter.
What does it mean?
If I get a job, I’ll talk about job-related topics more often.
Especially if the job is about my specialties, engineering tools (CAD, CAE, CFD).
Hopefully, I won’t be talking about job hunting forever.
